How much should i be paying for an oil and filter service on the auto gearbox please?

Which van have you got?

I'd recommend you check your fluid first, if pink - just an oil change. If brown or black you'll need many in short succession until it is pink/red again.

Generally the filter gauze can be left alone, just a 3L (partial) change is needed (with followups as noted above).

My 3ltr 1KZTE auto gets an oil change once a year just drop oil about 2 ltrs comes out then put same back in drive 100 miles or so check color if brown do it again until cherry red like new oil and your box is good for over 3000,000 miles I took the auto box pan off once total waste of time there is no filter just a strainer to collect big bits there were none, its easy you can reach the plug from under side of van you will need a funnel to get oil down dip stick pipe.

3L engine. What i meant was how much will i be charged by an auto box company to do this as i know it needs doing but not physically able to do the job. Wink

It should be only a 30 minute job + fluids per change, £100 max would seem reasonable to me.
