Need to replace some rear steel heater pipe....looks same size as standard 15mm copper which will be the cheapest replacement (have flaring kit etc.)
These special order prices still bring a tear to my eye Sad
Is there any special reason NOT to use standard copper?

Being a plumber, I'd go for the copper every time. Don't see any reason why not - I've had motors with copper water pipes as standard..... Smile Question Smile

Yes, I'm familiar with modifying 'original' parts... affraid good reason to make your own!
As these vehicles get older, calculated improvisation is going to get more important methinks! Laughing

Me neither...I have read of people being against it due to corrosion...forget the term but having owned a landrover know about alloy and steel not mixing...can't see how a bit of copper would hurt though as products like 'cargo seal up' are full of it.
That will likely be a springtime job....just replacing with 13mm goodyear hose would be another option I guess.
Thanks for the replies...if you see a hiace with polished and lacquered copper heater pipes at an ace jam... you'll know who I am! lol!
