| My new 1994 Supercustom will not kick down into passing gear. I have the A45DL automatic transmission so I pulled the "Kickdown Switch" from the transmission. I cannot find a reference to a part number anywhere. Does anyone know where i might find one? It is on the passenger side next to the OD solenoid. Below is a diagram from the manual. | |

| It's a common gearbox and the US has a few auto gearbox specialists - some of them post stripdowns on Youtube. Maybe they would be able to source the part?
Silly question but did you check the colour (color) of the transmission fluid? I.e. is that the most likely culprit - is there any way to test it?
BTW if you got that diagram from jp-carparts (or can find it there!) the part numbers are listed below in a table so you can identify the Toyota # and look it up from that.

| The fluid definitely needs a change, I was going to flush it today. I tested the switch with a volt meter and it is dead. The only diagram that seems to show this switch is the transmission manual. All of the parts diagrams I usually use show nothing. Even Toyota's website, the shop manual, nothing. Mystery parts...strange. | |

Worth changing the fluid every hundred miles until it stays pink.. Can you fix the switch itself? Else it seems like it should be really common and a transmission shop should be able to order one in for you, seems it was used all over: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_A_transmission#A45DL
