Insulation on the metal pan under the car. Replacement.

Hi all

My insulation got ruined by age by an unexpected combination of high tides and high waves.

The car is almost sorted. Any idea a good replacement insulation? I am not even sure what it is for!

Can you describe which pan exactly it is on?
I only have insulation under the seat/bonnet above the engine.

It's the pans- there are 3 or 4 that are on the underside of the car. They go from the engine to about the rear axle.

Oh I see.
They'll just be to make it a little quieter, probably worth putting some new (and waterproof) stuff in there when you get a chance but if it's quiet enough I wound't bother.

If it's near the exhaust or other hot parts you may wish to renew it as it could also be heat insulation.
