hi guys n gals,

can i ask what most people have done with the kph to mph conversions. I have seen some with stickers on speedo to denote particular speeds. do most just change clock face (is that easy?) or replace whole clock unit? or do you just judge it yourself? looked on the bay and seen stickers but not to keen on that!

I must admit that the more I drive it, as is, the more it doesn't worry me but is it even legal on uk roads to be in kph?

hope you all had good weekend!

Yes it is legal.

Should be able to get a MPH with KPH card to place over the existing one.

If yours is an auto be wary of electric converters as these can send the wrong signal to the ECU and mess up gearchanges!

My Hiace had the electronic dash so no conversion available, I soon got used to reading in KPH. On first pick up I calculated 130 as 70 ish wondered why i was passing everything!

Hi,
Yes- I ran a VW camper with a Km/h-only speedo for years (RHD, though).

You only need to remember that 30=50 (hence 60=100), 40=75 and 70=120...

Cheers,
W.

also its on my list to do , i removed the stickers someone had placed on the dials whilst sat in a trafffic jam one day , they were in the wrong place anyway

to work it out its the 6 times table

so your doing say 40kph , ignore the 0 and think 4 ,,, now times it by 6 so your looking at 24 , thats how quick your going

so 70 kph becomes 7x6 = 42 , 100kph is 60 etc etc etc , easy peasy
