| ok I pulled the dash apart and my heater lights weren't working either so i pulled the heater control out then pulled apart . 1. leave the front black cover on. 2 leaver the second cover off and you will find approx 5 T5 globe holders check these for good globes,I replaced all of mine to be on the safe side. reassemble and they now should be working if not give them a LITTLE tap with your hand and Bob's your uncle. I now have a fully operating dash while I had it apart I found that the ash tray also has a light which i replaced the globe and now works, it's a B**** to get to. hope this helps dave | |

| Had to replace the bulbs on my AC panel. There are 4 of em, you need to take it out and seperate it, the bases are brown and half a turn pops em out... of course, they aren;t standard so i had to go to my local toyota dealer... only £2 each in the uk, so not terrible..... when i bought my SC they were all blown, guess because its a pig to replace em !!!! | |

| Ruffnut,
I think i have the same dash light problems as you seem to have on my 1993 SC. How did you get the cables attaching to the vent control and speed controls off (and more importantly back on). I had the dash off at weekend and I undid the screws holding the unit in but it seemed stuck in by two sheathed cables?

| Hi Dangarus; the cables (electrical) should just unclip and the unit then is free to be removed. I then pulled the unit apart and cleaned the inside put it back together and it worked. I am assuming that there was a little bit of dust or dirt in it , as it has given me no problems since. Cheers Dave P.S sorry just reread your Question sounds like you have the manual climate control, mine is the digital control. | |

| Thanks Dave,
Yes its the old school manual one.... looks like i will just have to fiddle with it unless any one has any better ideas??
Its starting to annoy me now that the AC button lights up and the dash lights up but nothing else does!

| is the front panel held by screws if so it might be worth while removeing and see if you can get at the lights that way | |

| other than the screws holding the unit in nothing was particularly accessible and i couldnt pull the unit out far enough to get a good look (because of the sheathed cables i think). looks like i am just going to have to poke around and hope i dont break anything....
i dont suppose you know if they heater control lights have there own fuse? i have just considered that there could be a very easy fix to this problem if that is the case....

| the only fuse that i know of is the heater fuse and the instrument (lights) fuse but if your instruments are lit then i'm afraid it sounds like the globes have blown or no power going to the lights The cables should just prize off and replacement is just push fit i believe. | |
