Under the dashboard on the passenger side near the door of my LH123 with 3 liter diesel is a red button, for lack of a better term. What is its purpose? Sorry, I don't seem to be able to upload a photo or I would. If it can be explained to me how to upload photos I will happily do so. Thank you.

Hey buddy.

Looks like you are describing the road flare that is required on Japanese domestic vehicles.

I thought it was a button too at first.

Hello.

Yes, towards the far left of the lower left dash there's a plastic holder for a railway flare. Here's a couple of pictures from the manual:

It's not a great system and for me it didn't work until I'd made a few posts then the facility, including some other features appeared.
