I've not had to (mainly as it doesn't seem to have any strips), but my mechanic friend always uses a kettle of boiling water to soften stickers with.

I took mine off with a pressure washer but it left all the glue on the van. So one side has no more stripes, but a messy, sticky patch all along. THe other side still has the strips - not going to try that again. I'll try the heat processes suggested above sometime.

I found acetone worked well for removing the glue. I expect a bit of thinner would do the same
