| I have only just got my van onto the road, tax etc. Anyhow, still having fun with trying to find out what is what I noticed that little button on the gear stick. O/D off. I presume this means overdrive? Dont take the mick, even though I'm a girlie driver but this is the first time I have had an auto! So am I right in only using this button when out of town and on an open stretch? Plus, what is the red button lower down just above the gear selecter? Sorry, all in Japanese and I have no vehicle book, so its all guess work | |

| i usually leave the o/d button in this selects the highest cruising gears for economy.only leave off when towing.when i have the o/d in it selects the top gear at about 64km/h .with the power button in it holds the gear longer upto about 70 km/h before changing.i think the red button you are on about is the one that lets you take it out of park without the footbrake being pressed.to do this you need to press the gear lever button together with the red one. | |

Sorry, what are ECT lights? Plus, what are the two mileage things for? I have the digital display and down at the bottom left hand corner it has distance A/B, I was trying to reset it but haven't worked it out yet | |

| ECTlight is the power light on the dash.the digital dash has two milage counters a+b and you can reset them both or toggle between them with the button | |

| Ours has 3. 2 trip meters( I use one for total mileage travelled and the other one to check on fuel usage ) and a total mileage which can't be reset (easily or legally ) Also our EC is on the centre box between the front seats next to the mirror controlls. Good when you need a little bit more to get the job done. Welcome by the way. Sorting the little devils out is much easier with all the info from the good people here | |
