94 Super Custom, Auto, 1kzte wont start, then starts?

Mystery. I turn the key to allow glow plugs to warm up for a few seconds, then turn to start and it acts like a dead battery. Does not crank, d.e.a.d. dead. Turn key back, then to start again and it starts right up (and starts strong). Battery is new last year, terminals are clean.

Happened again today, when tried to start, it engaged starter for a fraction of a second, but nothing. Digital Dash goes black. Turned it of then to start again, nothing. Tried a third time and startedright up.

Hi there. Purely just a thought, but as the intermittent loss of power seems to be dependent on the ignition, maybe there is something up with the ignition barrel?
