| I have a problem with my SuperCustom, in that the Radiator has a big leak. On taking it to the local Rad specialist they informed me that they can repair it, but cannot rplace it as there are no new ones available.
Does anyone know if this is true?
I am in New Zealand, and some things are harsd to get hold of, but generally vehicle spares are not an issue.
Thanks

| Hi there,
thanks for the information.
I have tried a Toyota dealer, and they can get a new one, imported from Japan, problem is the cost = $3500NZ = 1400 pounds!
I can get it recored for $700NZ = 280 pounds,
Or a second hand one for $200NZ = 80 pounds.
Ive checked on Ebay, they only have ones for Manual transmission,
The Supercustom has connections for the Auto Transmission & the Air conditioning system so lots of pipes & connections mean that the parts are very rare.
Cheers

| I have now completed the radiator change after buying a 2nd hand one and getting it leak tested prior to fitting it.
Its quite a mission, and after 5 hours it was all completed.
There are 7 connections, 2 to the additional front horizontal radiator, 2 to the auto transmission, top & bottom main hoses & one to the thermostat housing.
Its a tight fit, and I had to bend a part of the body to get it in (as reccomended by a radiator fitter here)
