| Hi there, I am after some help and guidance regarding rear drum brakes for my super custom 1996. after inspecting the brakes today I came across extremely worn out brake shoes and drum covers. one side has a major brake fluid leak also so may potentially need a whole new assembly. Can anyone please let me know where I can source these parts from as I am not confident the old local Repco will stock such parts for these imports. look forward to hearing from you guys and gals | |

| Brisbane, not sure what Toyota dealers will be open but that's where I'd look first, in some countries they have good support. | |

| I've found Toyota very helpful when they can, but they don't get involved if the parts are unique to imports. I also had some very good service from Peddar's. I was referred to them by Toyota for suspension re-bushing. In the process they did a very comprehensive check of suspension and brakes picking up some previously unreported issues. They would probably want to do the work themselves rather than supplying parts. | |

| If you can lookup the exact Toyota part number from toyodiy or jp-carparts then do a web search on that number. Also you can request parts from your dealer by part number too, then they can just look it up and tell you if they can get it.
Also bear in mind the drums themselves probably last for ages so you may find luck at scrap yards if they have Hiaces in there - probably more likely in Aus. than the UK.

| If in Australia cross reference your part, my van is a 1997 and upon looking it up and researching it is the same rear drum as the early hilux, prado and many others Bendix ACBS1660 is the lining. If yours are 295 x 50.5 shoes. Punch in Toyota bs1660 into eBay and it comes up with all you need. There is also full rebuild kits, drums, cylinders, linings etc. Good luck | |

| When it comes to parts the drums are part of the axel diagram (party no)- they are not included in teh diagram of the rear brakes.
A rare moment of awesome Japanese engineering being wierd.
