Hey members, am new at this forum and I hope to get some help.
I got a 2001 Super custom, am based in Dubai and I want to have serious work on in.
Unfortunately there are no qualified garages here with knowledge on this car. I want to have the whole engine rebuild to give more power out put. theres is no reliable info online. most people suggest swapping the engine with a supra, some say the Landcruiser and recently I found a post talking about the Lexus.
I believe this is the place to get the right info since most of yall have worked on similar projects.
My plan is to have it build and I will import it here and have it mounted on the car.

I hope I can find someone who can help me work on this project. and am willing to buy the parts and have the engine built for me. Thanks you all

Can you check which gearbox you have right now? It should be noted on the grey plate with chassis number under the seat. Or you can give chassis number here.

There aren't many shops specialized in Toyota Hiace. Some guys do these wild shops in New Zealand or Australia. But that will become very expensive.

In your area, I think there are many Toyota specialist workshops. They don't have to know the Hiace very well, they only have to know the engines.

Because the important thing is if the engine fits in the engine room, and if you can connect it to your gearbox.

The Lexus 1UZ engine fits, and could be mated to your gearbox probably, or you could use the gearbox from the Lexus.
These engines were there in the Lexus LS400. Perhaps you can buy an old LS400 in your area, and then you have all the parts. You only need to buy specially made engine mounts. Or have someone make them.
Someone was offering them, but the item ended. Maybe you can contact this user when you make an account there?

Hey Hiace4wd
Thanks for your swift reply. The thing is in Dubai the hiace is used like the work horse, only as a transporter. and most of the garages concentrate on American muscle cars, Japanese rally cars or the European Exotics. that's why most of the homework I have to do myself. so that once I approach the garage I just need their labor. otherwise what am trying to do has never been attempted before. that's why i need to be ready with all the parts. all they have to do is bolt it in
Either way. mine is a non 4wd automatic gear transmission(A45DL). i like the idea about the lexus 1UZ i would actually hook it up with its transmission if i would make it better. my engine is a weak 2RZ-E.
I have seen on Youtube an Ace destroy a supra in a drag race, that's what i wish for or something closer and i only wish i live in Australia to be able to put together this my project. anyways thanks a lot for your support any more info will be much appreciated.

Ok if you really want to beat a Supra at a drag strip, then it is a different story. You would really need the 2JZ Supra engine. If you would use the 1UZ V8 then it would need quite some work with turbo's, but there is also a Supercharger for the 1UZ V8 (but that means it will stick out from the middle seat Very Happy )

But if you just want a fast Hiace, the 1UZ might be the best. Because it is cheaper to afford, it has more power in the lower rpm, and we know it fits.

There was a guy from new zealand selling these engine mounts but it is not online. However, I think there must be some of these tuner shops in Dubai that have some experience in welding custom engine mounts for you.

I don't know much about the A45DL transmission. I'm not sure if it will hold all the power.
Since you only have rear-wheel drive, it should be possible to use the automatic transmission that also comes in the Lexus LS400 (just like the 1UZ engine).

So I think you have to find an old Lexus LS400 in your area for engine and gearbox. And then find a shop that can make the engine mounts for you.
Just call some of these tuner shops, say that the engine fits but custom mounts have to be made. And see what they say.

I found this guy on New Zealand trading site. See link below:

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Members/Listings.aspx?member=728644

He offers a lot of conversion stuff. So you should be able to buy all parts including instructions on how to do it. So you could buy all parts and instructions and then have a workshop do it at your place.
