| hello guys, can you help me with this knocking sound in the engine of my 1kz-te a/t super custom hi-ace van? i had it overhauled, changed the piston, re-sleeved it, changed conrod bearings, fuel filter, checked the tappet clearance, checked the timing, changed the nozzle tips, and replaced the whole cylinder head... It worked out fine for a couple of weeks then it started having this knocking sound, hard starts, and emits blue smoke in the morning. smoke goes black when you rev and returns to blue smoke on idle... Any idea? i need help badly... its making a big hole in my pocket...   | |

| Blue smoke is burning oil...leaking into the piston chamber from above (head, valve seals etc.) or below (block, rings etc.)....or maybe turbo oil seals
Black is unburnt deisel...(injector, timing calibration).
Knocking could be anything...but this does'nt sound good
I'd take it back to the overhauler...they guarantee their work?......... | |

| I took it to the overhauler this morning and have it checked.
The black smoke has been dealt with, thanks man... The blue smoke probably is from the turbo coz it got oil everywhere, from the pipe to the turbo itself. Well i hope it is only oil seals, or else i have to replace the whole turbo thingy right?
the knocking sound is giving us a hard time though... | |

OMG!!! We just found out that my pistons got fried and we have to redo the whole overhauling thing again... the mechanic says i got it from overheating, but howcome??? the temperature guage has never gone over, the highest it got is at 1/4... how did that happen??? Man!!!
