Hi - has anyone changed the front brake disks on a hiace yet - i have to change mine soon and wondered if any one can give me a breif description of what i'm gonna find.
I have noticed that they are on the back of the hubs so does this mean that i will have to dismantle the wheel bearings to get them off?
(I have a 1993 2.8l (3L engine) super custom ltd)

Yes you have to remove the hubs to unbolt the disk from the back of the hub.

I've stock ventilated ones on and they are very good considering the weight of the bus.

Hi guys,

First of all, I have a normal Hiace van with a 2.4L petrol engine and not a super custom.

I have tried other toyota forums but not much help.

So I hope you guys can help me out if the front brake setup is similar to a normal hiace.

I have bought a pair of brake pads and discs. After taking the wheel off, I realised that the brake disc is behind the hub. What are the steps in order to remove the hub and disc ?

Cheers

4WD is a bit complicated and I've not done it.

2 or RWD as it should be known - remove wheel, hub cover, split pin and castlelated nut, undo and slide off the brake calipher(hang it out of the way mind the flexi hose), carefully pull the hub and disc off be careful of the bearings dropping out and dirt.
Replace disc and pack hub with grease refit and job done.
Hub nut done up until the hub binds slack off until you have acces to put the split pin in and double check.
