Whoops. New years eve panic Empty
PostSubject: Whoops. New years eve panic   Whoops. New years eve panic Icon_minitimeThu Jan 01, 2009 11:59 am

Firstly I need the bus to tow my trailer tonight for D.J. duties. And being a busy night I didnt want any problems with Mr Policeman.

Just realised my MOT has expired. (only by a couple of days) so rung the garage that did it last year, booked in the bus. Should be done by Lunch time.
1 Oclock and as I hadnt heard from the garage I called them and was told it was just being done. 2 Oclock and still no call. 2.30 and I jumped on the bike to cycle to the garage.

Anyhoo.

Bus only needed headlight adjustment. PHEW. Gotta love these Hi-aces.

I hadnt been keeping a record but I have only done 6000 KM in the last year.

(on a side note, last year I got an advisory to say the exhaust was
blowing slightly. I havent done anywork to the exhaust but this year it wasnt mentioned !)

Think I've done 5000 KMs in the last two months, and this is the quiet season!

Which garage was it?

I used the TES in Two Mile Hill, Kingswood.

He also mentioned a full service with original filters would be about £120 and a cam belt kit / replacement would be about £250.

I havent used them for mechanical stuff so I'm not sure how good they are.

Cam belt on the 3 ltr is a half hour job, so way over price, belt and tensioner is £80.

Depends what a full service includes but filters would be around £45 of that
