| Hi, I recently had my Suzuki Carry stolen and have been looking at possible replacements... I've seen a very lovely looking 1992 Toyota Hiace, 138000 miles, years MOT (no advisories on cert), 4 owners, diesel, 7 seater with wind out awning. Im going to see it on Sunday - the asking price is £6,250. Hubby thinks I'm nuts and the mileage is way too high. Any thoughts/advice/words of wisdom HUGELY appreciated! Thanks in advance | |

| We have had a 3ltr 1kzte auto for 5 years very reliable (providing you look after the cooling system and change the oils correctly) the 3ltr is not slow but the 2.8 is . We gutted ours after running it for 2 years put in a conventional layout with kitchen and bench seats 3way fridge and wardrobe see my posts. Your main concern should be rust , this can be very expensive , I do my own welding and painting , parts are available through ebay and not over expensive. This forum is indispensable for these old vehicles , best of all we run ours on WVO from our local Indian take away but thats a whole new story. My advice is if you are into DIY mechanicing and the engine sounds good yes otherwise no. | |
