Speedometer wire and beer.

A beer for whoever can tell me which wire is speedometer input into the back of the instrument cluster on the electronic speedo cluster!

I'm trying to install a new KMH to MPH converter which ive moved from the gearbox to prevent it from stuffing up the shifting and tems.

I'd kill for a set of wiring diagrams for this car... for my MR2 I have the toyota manual which is a companion to the green book and its awesome.

Might try and bell it out from the ECU... FYI on other toyotas if you pull the cover off the ECU all of the wires are labled on the circuit board what they are... the speed input is "SPD"

I came across it when i was installing a cruise control kit.

In the reference book it came with it advised the wire should be a solid purple wire. I found it on one of the bottom plugs connected to the instrument panel.

The wire outputs 4000 ppm i believe

Sorry, i meant to say purple with a white stripe. It's coming off the grey connector on the bottom of my digital dash.

Sorry to dig this thread up from the grave, but has anyone got a solid answer as to which wire is the speedo input to the digital dash?

I'm trying to fit a speedometer compensator (having fitted larger diameter tyres) on a 1993 4x4 super custom. I've tried both the purple with white stripe and solid purple wires (on the large grey connector). Cutting them seemed to have no effect whatsoever (at least not to speedo).
