Hello All,

I just bought a '96 Super Custom 3.0 Diesel 4WD. It has 211K's on the clock currently. So far I'm pretty happy with it. Lots of interesting quirky luxuries. I didn't realize these even existed until a few weeks ago and have now found the cult following surrounding them. I had a 2012 people mover-Hiace previously but it had no guts and not great traction in wet weather. I've been doing some reading and one of the known issues may be overheating/head cracking. I've seen suggestions of replacing the thermostat as a maintenance item. I'm wondering if there are any other suggestions (beyond general oil/filter change, etc...) for keeping it in good shape. While I'm not a mechanic, I've had a look at the engine (visual) and it looks pretty clean and tidy with no signs of weeping. This seems like it will be a perfect vehicle for tooling around the South Island of New Zealand as 4wd seems crucial for where I'd like to go. I'll have a look around the forum, but if there are links to seat cover makers, floor mat sellers etc... I'd love any suggestions.

Thanks
Jake
