At sparkys for two weeks now

1kz supercustom still at sparkys , so from intermittent loss of about half power , then into limp mode no ecu issues at all , been checked , then tell me might be a cracked block ... do a test and all good , then tell me might be diesel pump , checked and all good , two weeks nd no solution, says they have checked all sensors , ecu has been out and checked and all good , not throwing codes. Still in limp mode , rang them yesterday and said they were waiting for a new diesel pump thing that it on top of the diesel filter ...... for god sake I wish I had an answer then I’d know if I’m gonna sell it as is or keep the dam pain in the ass , blessed it wasn’t the diesel pump cause then it would have been cambelt water pump and all that expensive shit to do , any ideas ???

And by limp mode I mean not even really limp mode . It idles and I can get it to move but that’s about it , a very slow drive very slow crawl , then when it starts to get warm it runs considerably rough , when it never used to run rough at all , this is doing my head in , I’m hoping it’s the issue with that plunger thing on the Diesel filter maybe

Does it rev at all even in Park ?

No , it will idle. Then will get warm and get really rough and die , I bit the Bullet and bought another 2nd hand diesel pump for $450 , getting put in tomorrow so fingers crossed it was the diesel pump and the mechanic and sparky have said it’s the only thing it can be as they have checked absolutely everything else

The pump also may have compensation resistors mounted on the outside - not 100% sure what they do but worth comparing between old and new.

Time will tell today. They started fitting the new one Friday so I’m assuming it should be done today , had cambelt done also while they were doing all that too
