| Hi all, My 1995 Cruising Cabin has stopped charging the auxiliary battery from the engine. All works OK on mains and battery.
I wondered if it is the main square fuse under the passenger front but I cannot work out how to remove it or check it. Any ideas?
Also my rear off side window is broken. Any advice where to get a replacement glass.
Thanks,
Johnp | |

| Replacement parts depend on the country, no idea where wimborne is but in the UK Toyota is worth asking. You may wish to supply an annotated photo of the fuse as many are quite different. Some Toyota fuses are actually bolted in for a better connection and you have to unbolt them from behind. Google for Toyota fuse bolts to see some pioneers find out about this | |

| Hi John, With a lot of conversions there is an inline fuse between the leisure battery and the engine, however the exact location will vary. Best bet, follow the wires back from the leisure battery. Just in case you haven't done this already, double check that you have the leisure battery set to charge when the engine is running. On some vans there will be an obvious "Zig" unit with a switch on it, on others (like mine) there is an over-sized red plastic tap (looks like an engine stop valve on a bus) that may be set to ON. Hope you find the issue. Kind regards, Rich | |

| Thanks Rich,
I managed to prise the SUB BAT resistor off and swap it around with the BZR (whatever that is buzzer ??) but still did not work.
I agree it is probably a fuse from the main charger
Technically this is not a conversion as it is a factory built Toyota camper van which has been rewired for British regulations. It looks like yours.
Will work backwards along the wires next time I have it here.

| Thanks Ours is a 1995 4WD Campervan 2.8 litre. We have had it a number of years having had a recon Rad, Recon starter motor, Head Gasket. I try to do most of the maintenance myself, but did not do the Head Gasket.
Grandson kicked a stone in a car park and it went through the rear off side sliding glass. Any idea where we would get a replacement ?? At presnet I have formed a plastic sheet but really want to replace it.

| I've had mine 6 years and love it. Although be nice if it went a bit faster up hills!
So sorry to hear about the sliding glass. To try and get a specific piece will potentially be quite difficult, but if you go to a proper glass cutting place, that will have the right reinforced glass and will be able to make you up a replacement.
A quick search found these guys who are local to you (I think) https://www.autoglaze.co.uk/specialist-vehicle-glazing/motorhome-windows/

| No unfortunately not because it is curved. They can do plastic curves and that is what I replaced it with. No idea where to get one. | |

| Oh no. What an absoulte b*gger. I think you may have to go the import the part from Japan route.
I'm currently waiting on delivery of the front wiper assembly from Japan as I couldn't source it from the UK. I know it's going to be a beggar to fit, but at least my middle wiper bit will actually bolt to the body of my van again.
