New Owner - 1991

Last week I flew halfway across the US to check this 1991 SCL LH107 out... and decided to drive it home.

I've got some issues to resolve (few rust spots, frozen idler pulley, vacuum pump, recharge AC) but overall, it's a blast to drive and hang out in. 
Caused quite a scene at the VIN inspection, highway patrol thought they stepped through an international time portal. 


Anyhow, I've been digging through this forum daily for the last couple of months. I'm not really mechanically knowledgable nor inclined, but with this community here, I think I might be ok. I pledge to only ask stupid questions after thoroughly searching the forum.

Is that the 2.8 non turbo diesel?

yes, the 2.8 non turbo 3L! all the silly bells and whistles, though I haven't attempted to put them to use with the exception of JoyTalk...which I think was disconnected when they put in a new stereo.. I'll figure that out some rainy day. Engine and rust come first. 
It does get a lot of very confused looks here in the middle of america.

Same engine as mine. You may not win any land speed records but you get there in a much more relaxed fashion, and it'll just keep on going. Enjoy. Had mine 5 years now and love it.
