| Assuming you are meaning the radiator fan.
Not sure what engine you have, but certainly for the 2L and 3L the big fan behind the radiator will always turn.
As the engine gets hotter the fan speed will increase. It's a viscous system that reacts to heat, not an electrical system. Powered off the alternator and waterpump belts.

| If it is a second electric fan on a second radiator (I read this in other topics) it would very likely be a thermoswitch that is broken, or broken wiring between thermoswitch and electric fan. | |

| Is the new relay the correct type? As said, investigate thermo switch and simulate it opening and closing to see if the fan response is correct, as dictated by the relay. | |

| I have found a thermo switch under the radiator cap that doesn't have a plug connected to it . Can't find a wire to plug it in either. Any ideas ? | |

Could you add the Model and Year of your van to your profile? That way it will always appear on the left of your posts so we can see if we have the same van, and therefore know the answer. The actual Toyota model number would be useful too if you found it under the passenger seat carpet next to the engine. Like in my profile. | |
