Anyone breaking a Hiace with 2lte 2.4 td engine ?

I need a sump as mine is porous around the top part of the sump extension part, daft design that allows moisture to sit on top of that part corroding it

Anything about in the UK?

I know some of the engines are fitted with a front sump, others with a rear sump. The engine is not in the same position in the Hilux, so it may have a different sump. Would be best to check part numbers.

darn it, the surf does appear to have a different part number

Can your sump be welded?
If it's steel you could clean it up and have it patched , some places can also patch alloys.

While checking the part numbers, it is very weird. The part number for a sump from a japanese van like yours with 2L-TE is also listed for many 2L engines. But not equal to my 2L.
However, when I check my sump part number, it is also listed for 2L-TE engines in Landcruisers.
I think that is the same story again, modifications for 2WD version or 4WD version (with the axle being in the way)

I think you are checking for part number 12101 54182 right?

Here you can buy 12101 54183 (one off) for 185 Euro, new product. It probably fits, but I can't be sure.

Well spotted, I didn't notice it returned 184 when I searched for 182, although it lists both numbers ... I'm now confused.

yes i'm going on mine being 12101-54182 which superceeds to 12101-54183 , the hilux is 12101-54310

the sump is porous but only slightly, since getting the rear main replaced my oil spotting has gone from a 5 inch diameter to a smidge of a drop, still annoying me as I hate oil leaks. I'v got some of that chemical metal in a tube that you roll together in your fingers then apply but with the sump fitted access is nigh on impossible, even when the van was over the pit having the rear main the garage let me have a look and you have to get up between the chassis and block
