| Hi guys We've just bought our first Hiace (see avatar). She's a 1991 model with a poptop campervan conversion. Planning to take her on a long trip around Europe starting this summer... Only thing is there's almost no paperwork wit the vehicle. Wondering if any of you know how we can find out exactly which model it is, which engine etc. Any tips or advice massively appreciated Ant & Lou | |

| Looks good! Read and hunt around the forum for initial info.
The plate you need is under the passenger seat on the floor near the door, over the top of the wheel. It has the full chassis, engine and trans codes there.
The chassis number is also next to the drivers seat above the front wheel in the plastic trim - there may be a little rectangular cover on it.
Ideally you should also have a service sheet there too in Japanese.

| Yes either the chassis number or a picture of the plate under the passager seat "bonnet". Then we can tell you all about it. Oh and congrats with buying your Hiace Before doing the long trip, I would strongly suggest to flush the coolant system with water several times. And then put fresh coolant in. While doing that, you could also replace thermostat and thermocap, as it won't cost much extra. That will make sure your cooling system is working as it should, when your enjoying 40 degrees temperature and the van needs to go up some steep hills (on the highway)

| Looks good.
Aside from the specific model details, more generic paperwork such as owners manual and service manual are availalable on-line.
