| Looks nice! But PLEASE remove that VW logo from the steering wheel! You can buy a Toyota one for a couple of dollars online, they are standard sizes. Because this is definitely a crime | |

| Van looks great, the seating is the same as mine but your dash layout is slightly different, plus you have a different dial layout too. And ah yes, the HiAce stereo issue As one of my many, parallel jobs I'm replacing the stereo, mainly as the original one was from a different Toyota and clearly didn't quite fit.. I narrowed the choice down to a Sansui SA-2100 or SA-2610, over the Nakamichi. All cheaper than Chinese no-names. I went for the bigger number but actually the 2100 is an easier fit as it has the standard 2-ISO plug connectors, and an extra USB connector which saves having one always sticking out the front. So, you'll need a standard Toyota adapter to get from the Hiace to the DIN/ISO world, and you can get them for the standard 2 plug ISO or the mini ISO that was in the SA-2100. In the event as I had a Toyota adapter and the 2610 came with a great input power filter I used a soldering iron and heatshrink and did the work. So, part of the reason for a posh new radio was the reversing camera, so apart from the calculation of how to mount it in the Hiace (the brackets don't seem to line up with any holes so it's looking like DIY brackets and careful alignment), I also need to tap into the wire that signals 'reverse'. Oh and also the parking brake for DVDs, but that is rather easier to find Parking brake wire (the black one!) The actual reversing camera I chose is £5 from Hong Kong, and will be wired in when I finally get to putting my rear fog-lamp into the reversing lamp position (with a 7.5W red LED bulb), and will be powered from the remaining reversing lamp and have to be wired down the van to the head unit too. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=311606232138 Then when I select reverse I'll get a 170deg view out the back. Ideally. Also in parallel I'm upgrading the dash speakers - but that's another topic | |

| Seeing other SC's I'd have loved the full centre console for mine, that cheap one on ebay recently had a cracking 90's brown velour interior and very snazy seats behind the drivers
Hopefully getting a Subaru plug to stereo tomorrow then sort out wiring it in

I didn't realise there was such a variety of styles, I suspect there was a big option list over the years. I think you have a brightness adjuster for the instruments - I wish I had one of those! I have bought a temperature controller to make the A/C run like a climate control though - I have to wire that in at some stage! The main thing besides climate is a cruise control - I'm still wondering the best way to get this. That eBay van was amazing value, I expect the buyer to pop up here any day now

| Hi all, bit of an update for you, switched over to the 16" Mitsubishi wheels, dropped the front some - need to cut the rear coils down a bit before winding down more, fitted some real nice crystal rear lamps but need to "age" then a bit to match the tailgat lamps, I'll try some tint spray for that, cut off the exhaust and fitted a good old cherry bomb and best bit is fitting a VW Golf lower spoiler to the front bumper, no trimming not cutting, nothing, even the Toyota bumper vents match the Golf No comments on the sill welding, thats not from me and something I need to get tidied up | |

| Looking good, interesting about the golf splitter. You may also be able to find sill covers,
How did you manage to source the lights?.
Wheels looking good BTW.

Wheels looking good BTW. Cheers GPW, lights came from Thailand of eBay, I keep searching hiace super custom see what's about and these came up in the search, seller had zero feedback so I was a little dubious but I gotta say communication and delivery details were top dollar, they also fit perfectly and came with bulbs

| Thailand eBay is interesting - could you paste the URL? I desperately need some new front lamps so I could do with somewhere else to look! | |
