canadian headlights issue

this issue will not go away
my 91 Hiace still has the original lights and I know the day will come when I will be caught and ordered to uprade. I hate the thought of having to destroy the looks of the van by the dot approved square lights.
Has anyone out there any idea if the 1993 headlights could be made to fit the 91 assembly. The reason I ask this is that I believe the 93 headlights can be had for rhd or lhd
and that would solve the problem nicely...........please.........make my day
