PostSubject: Temp gauge   Temp gauge Icon_minitimeFri Aug 12, 2011 8:12 pm

Evening folks, have just acquired a 2.4 diesel Hiace, it's a 99 model and the temp gauge jumps straight to max when you switch the ignition on regardless of whether the engine is warm or not. I've purchased and fitted a new engine temp sender unit but it still behaves the same but the engine runs fine and does not overheat.
I'd be grateful of any any advice on what might be wrong.
Many thanks.
Pete.

Maybe the sender that screws in the block near the filler cap is duff...or a short somewhere??

Check the connection on the back of the combination meter (dash dials)

Thanks for the replies, I'll check the connections on the back of the dash dials, it's not a digital dash but thanks anyway.
Pete.
