change cig lighter

need to change cig lighter on 92 SC. what is the best way to remove it. I can't seem to get it out and don't want to take the dash off. The fuse is ok, but no power to the lighter. Thanks in Advance.

sorry to tell you but the centre console has to be removed to get at the lighter once this is removed it's easy to change

I never use the cig lighter anyway....then when I come to sell I can proudly show the cig lighter has neer been used

thanks ruffnutt, I guess I believe you since I just spent a few hours trying to get it out w/o taking the console off. I blew it when there was a 5 amp 50 watt cooler plugged into an inverter and I decided my laptop needed to to be plugged in and turned on while it was charging. I figured it should have been able to handle it, especially since the fuse did not blow and it was only a 10 amp which I have now replaced with a 15 amp.
