| Our SC has a bull bar on the front and a mate with a van carries their bikes on his front bar. That got me thinking that I should do the same, otherwise you end up blocking the rear door or stuffing around on the roof. Another mate has a tow bar and ball on the front of his Landcruiser, which I've used to push a trailer and a caravan (not at the same time ) up our long and tricky driveway. Much easier than backing. So this got me thinking: I've got to have some of that action! With a tow bar on the front I can use a big bike rack we've got that attaches to a tow ball. Luckily, my mate with the other van is a truck body builder, so he has sorted me out, check the pictures. Oh yes, and it is only used with the bikes at daytime and it does draw a few comments! | |

| A radical solution. I'll await some news on the rear rack this time. (i loved Nelson back in 1988- walked a bit of the Abel Tasman- fond memories) | |

| Man that would do my head in! I wouldn't know if i was coming or going. Does it obstruct your head lights when all those bikes are on? Though would be nice having access at the back. | |

My radiator is the same, underneath a plastic cover out of harms way. The cover has ducts each side to direct hot air away and from getting pushed up to the main radiator, clever eh!

| I'd drop by a couple of motorhome accessory dealers...see if the VW T4 (or old transporter) version fits. They will likely have some on display to measure up etc.... I believe the size / fit of the supercustom tailgate is th same as old hiace vans if that helps | |

| the VW t4 will go on but you need to shorten it...cut a couple of centimeters of the two main spars then redrill the holes for the clamps that hook over the door .... pretty easy ,,,this is the only pic I have of it fitted though.... | |

| Cheers- I'll look out for a VWT4 one. Does it require driling through the tail gate at any point, or is it a bolt on job? | |

Does it obstruct your head lights when all those bikes are on? Though would be nice having access at the back. Yeah does look a little funny but practical for us anyway. I strap them all on pretty well, I've discovered that if they bounce at all that it becomes too distracting for the driver and passengers! :-) Sure, the bikes hide the headlights so it is for daytime bike movement only. If we have to carry bikes at night then they can go on the back!

clips over top of door and similiar to bottom of door with ajustment on the lower clips to take up slack....just line it up.. measure and cut ...get the idea once you line it up...also easier if you have help to hold it as its a big akward bugger...may have to bend top clips slightly to match shape of door..

| Vantastic, that is sweet work and I'd like to follow and do the same... what is the part number of the bullbar? were mods to the chassis/body necessary to get it on?
whenever I've talked to 4wd mod businesses they are too scared to go near it. |
