| Does anyone know if the ABS brakes can be disconnected? I have looked for the fuse but found nothing. Would be nice to switch it off when i go bush, was annoying me on the weekend, don't need ABS when on the dirt! | |

| Yeah when on the dirt at low speeds you want to be able to lock up the wheels a bit to make the tyres bite in. Most 4wd's automatically disconnect the ABS systems when they shift into low range or turn traction control on. I've found out few time now where my ABS just gets all screwed up and has almost put me off the track. | |

| Hey srburnsy, did you ever manage to switch the ABS off? I'm not keen on it turfing me off a slippery ski road! | |

| To be honest.. i havent looked into it very much apart from looking for a fuse?? need a wiring diagram?? Will have to look into more. Not sure about icy roads? ABS could be good for that? But definitely not for the dirt! | |

| I agree, on the ice should be ok but some of our snow driving is on gravel and scree roads, with a bit of mud thrown in! Will have chains on if things are getting out of hand but like the idea of a switch on the dash to turn ABS off. Our old 4x4 ('97 Isuzu) didn't have ABS and I didn't miss it. Will look into with my mechanic and will keep you posted if I find a way. | |
