| Looking to remove the vinyl sticker stipes from around the waste of the Ace.... after spending an hour just getting the little one between the side door and passenger door off i'm open to any suggestions to an easier way...
They're bu66ers to get off... been using a hairdryer and blade, then spirit to remove the residue, but the vinyl just isn;t coming off in any sizeable strips.... so, i've come in for a coffee...
Anyone got any pearls of wisdom?

| paint shops usually have a removing buffer tool , i think its a rubber wheel that buffs off the sticker with no damage to paint.
maybe take it to a paint shop and ask how much . could be a carton of beer job

| Managed to get a rubber wheel from my mate who runs a bodyshop, they fit in a drill and work a treat. Makes taking of the vinyl really easy, but you'll need 3 as they wear down pretty quickly.
Advice he gave me was use a variable speed drill and keep it moving so you don;t risk burning the paint - worked a treat... You can get em off fleabay for a fiver (uk)
just in case anyone else is thinking of doing it.......

| Easy as said above if you have a heat gun but if not then here is how I did mine. no real trouble getting them off at all, just alittle time consuming, you have to keep grabbing the pinstripes when pulling them off and try not to let the pulled off pieces get too long or they break off, i found this out fast to save picking to get it started again. Any sticky adheisive left can be taken off with Mineral Turpentine, just simply apply heaps on the area with a rag and scrape off with a plastic spatulartype tool or what i used is my surfboard wax combe and then a final wipe with the turps and rag. presto. | |
