| i have checked all possibilities . my van is a 1991with 2.4lte . i suspect my biggest problem is cranking amps. I have bled all air from the system. There doesnt seem to be much fuel coming past the pump unless at full crank from charged battery. I didnt play with anything but the injectors.Messed around in the garage for 6 hours to no avail. Are there any tricks to this monster.I bled the filter , pump and injectors but still i cant get any combustion at all.
Is there any type of bypass on the injector pump, seems to be a bunch of wires coming from it but am unable to trace anything to a possible problem.
Thanks for any insight | |

| The only thing I can think of is the eletronic management system that so far I haven't had to play with. If you do a search you wil find how to reset parts of it and that may help. With an old diesel (Mack etc) this isn't a prob but with this new stuff ??? There is a link(a few in fact) to workshop manuals that may help, do a search | |

| Is the spray pattern to specs with the new nozzles, normally the diesel injector specialist puts the injectors in a machine to check the spray pattern. They have to be pretty spot on or engine will no go. good luck Fletch | |

| injecor nozzles have been assembled / checked and put back GCL in calgary EVEN LESS POWER WITH NEW INJECTORS AND FUEL FILTER?????
its seems to run better than ever but has even less top end then before??you were right tritrade .. 2 injectors were put together backwards and the other two werent spraying correctly ...used to rev up to 34/3500 no problem on highway.. good for at least 125 ish
it wont rev past 3000 on the flat highway which is only good for 110 kmh tops
i dont seem to be getting any boost from my turbo either ...
Any ideas? I suspect my fuel pump may have taken a beating in my starting /priming troubles last week....

| try fitting a boost gauge to see if your getting your fair share of boost, have you checked your vacuum pipes around the inlet manifold area? mine popped off and it was gutless | |

| For sure ill check that although i suspect it is the windy alberta highways. The ol girl pushes some serious wind.Overdrive isnt much good from a 2.4 lt against an Alberta Clippper
The van would be much more fun to drive if it had a bit more jam. It will be interesting to see how it does in the mountains.

| good to hear you got it going, I was'nt too far off then. The diesel man should have checked puel pump pressure and turbo boost as well. All part of a diesel tune up. | |

| yah it was infact a breather hose to the turbo, it prevents any top end at all. Cant rev past 2900 .
My supercustom has auto tranny and a 2.4lt . It is emmesely Underpowered for its size. I got it roaring to a staggering 132km/h down a hill on the highway.
Still smokes a fair bit reving at 3400 on the highway , speeds around 115 kmh
Ill be taking it easy and driving her like she was in Japan right around 95 k
Thanks for your help, I am a big fan of the quick fixes . As an owner of a hiace I am prepared for surprises .Like the load groaning from the fan above the rad in behind the bumper, seemed to come an go all day until i sprayed it with WD40
Hasnt done it again today but i think the elec motor or bushing may be at the end of its days ..

| yeah the fans do stuff up maybe you should get a 3lt 1KZ-TE diesel engine and stick that in. That will sort out all your power problems , mine will do over 160kms easy I reckon , way to fast for a van | |
