In need of a service manual

I live in Canada and am having no luck finding a service manual. I am basically in the dark without one. I have a 98 3.0 TD , the only mechanic in my area that deals with them is 3 hrs away. Can anyone point me in the right direction

We are stuck in Namibia for an electrical break down and we absolutely need to know where is the ECU of our toyota hiace super custom of 1996. We cant findzt in tge ar. Please help! Thank a lot in advance.

The Super custom ECU is in the left side door pillar you have to take the seat belt anchor point f there is a plate there its behind that if that is your problem you will need a new set of capacitors and a good electronics chap to re solder them. There are a few topics on here do a search under ECU good stuff like symptoms and causes. Good luck .

If you describe the symptoms carefully here we may be able to diagnose the fault.

Is it the 1Kz-te 3 litre turbo engine?
Usually the ECU gradually degrades due to leaky capacitors as noted by JT69 above, if you are somewhere hot this may happen faster, but we'd have to know more about the actual fault to pinpoint it.
