2lte belts and what they drive Empty
PostSubject: 2lte belts and what they drive   2lte belts and what they drive Icon_minitimeSun Jun 10, 2018 4:57 pm

When mine was in for mot I had a looksie underneath and particularly at the noisy idler or what I thought was, so imagine your underneath a super custom with the 2.4 turbo motor, looking towards the front, what is the pulley lowest down to the right of the crank pulley as that's the one that is dry and noisy on mine, if its air con then can I pop the belt off of it only drives compressor?

If you find the exact model of your van in here you can go to the (engine IIRC) section and view the diagram for the belts .

Else you'll have to trace it around, easiest from on top I reckon as the access from underneath is a bit restricted by the cross member (on mine it is anyway!)

Currently I have the drivers seat out and the panel off so I can see down both sides of the engine (for my coolant perusals and attempts at fitting a catch can).

If I do cut the thermostat into the bottom hose it will be by reaching down from the top LOL.

But it does give you a very clear view of the belts and what they drive, so you may want to do that.
Unless the crossmember unbolts (some do!) the sump may only be possible with an engine hoist used to raise the engine a little bit.
