1KZ-TE Timing belt

Hi does timing belt need doing at 100.000 miles and what is the procedure will be replacing all v belts tentioners and idlers at same time and thermostat, any one know the part number for the timing belt please.

That's 100,000 km per belt.



You're in the UK, just take your chassis and engine number to Toyota, it's a Hilux engine so they have the belt, tensioner and water pump in stock.

IMO I'd buy Toyota for that bit, any 'economy' will be false.

No worries.

BTW I created that plate from the Japanese one i found in my van, check yours under the carpet near the door when you hinge the passenger seat bonnet up.

Also check on youtube for the 1KZ-TE cambelt change as the Hilux uses it - so there are some useful videos there.
As you'll be taking off the viscous fan you may also want to re-oil that too - again youtube should supply the howto, but I think they are fairly easy to refurbish.

Change the thermostat at the same time.
