I have a 1993 2.4 TD super custom which up until last week was in really good condition inside and out but someone hit us from behind and pushed us into the vehicle in front damaging both bumpers which i can live with at the moment but the tailgate took the brunt of the impact. Whilst it is dented etc and one rear light case is broken the big headache is the tailgate won't lock. The mechanism is working as we can hear it but the actual catch isn't moving. Insurance want to write it off but we love this hiace and i was wondering if anyone knew of repairers in the West Midlands who could help with this. For now i can live with the dents and scratches but we really need to be able to secure it.

The lock is operated by rods that may have become detatched.
