EFI Computer OBD standard?

I want to buy an OBD reader so that I can check up on what my diesle engin is doing. Does anyone know what standard of OBD either 1 or 2 that the 1KZ-TE motor has? Or do the diesels use that standard of device.

I know that untill the early 2000's the OBDII was not standardised between manufactures. So doease any one have any insights into what the Super's use?
