low emission zone

hi does anyone know if the 2.4 hiace engine needs an exhaust filter to be compliant with the new standards in 2012
If not fitted the fee is £100 per day and the zone covers all of greater London !!

has anyone had one fitted

I think this applies to LGVs and up. I don't think our vehicles qualify but thanks for posting. I'll check.

I believe that if your vehicle is classified as PLG on the logbook and has less then eight seats it is classified as a car and exempt from LEZ charges. However if it has more then eight seats as some of the the long wheelbase models do then it will need a filter. Hiaces that are kitted out as campers are deemed to be specialist vehicles and are not exempt.
