| the one for the uk spec hiace compact is the same ...I had one fitted by a windscreen place up the road for just over £100 ... or you can get them from toyota for £300 ...the part no's are different but its because the super custom has a tint through it... | |

| Had a windscreen guy over who brought the glass (without being given the chassis no)although I said it was am import. When putting it up to see if it was ok found it was a few mm smaller - s..t!. He said UK spec was different to the import - weird or what?. Now gotta order from Japan. Windscreen guy came back saying £285 but I did my own search and cheapest I found was BBC parts, Hertfordshire £225. Fitting will be £80. K | |

| I'll repeat this for the hard of thinking... ...the uk spec compact is the same as the jap import hiace super custom...I had one fitted for my mot in nov.... you can buy the screen for both models direct from toyota in this country, the part no's are different but its because the super custom has a tint...it;ll cost you about £300..... or you can walk in to any windscreen place and buy a wind screen for a toyota hiace compact van and it will cost you around £100+... if you ask for a screen for a uk hiace they will supply one for a hiace powervan and it will not fit ...it must be a hiace compact. ....official uk import.... compact http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Toyota-Hiace-Compact-/170486458056?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Commercial_Trucks&hash=item27b1c8e6c8 powervan http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2006-Toyota-Hiace-Powervan-D4-D-Long-Wheel-base-/200472702059?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Commercial_Trucks&hash=item2ead1aac6b | |

| Hi Guys, I've been looking at the helpfull info regards a replacement windscreen and noted that the Hiace Compact version will fit Can anyone recommend any places to supply and fit this in the east/west sussex, surrey area. Also any idea of a fitted cost?? Alternatively I might just glue a plastic spider to the crack and try and tell the nice MOT man hat it is actually a web. Thanks Dave | |

| Good one Dave , I think a big hairy spider will be cheaper and more fun As for the compact/powervan I will have to see Aaah just checked and they are a different beastie all together. You don't see many powervans here in Aus. | |

| Hi Guys,
the windscreen drama continues! I have spoken to a few windscreen places and told them I need a new screen for my SC. Telling them other SC owners have sucessfully fitted Hiace Compact screens. They have then said sorry mate the SC has a bonded in screen and the Compact is held in place by a rubber strip??
jimsmim said in his post that the Compact fitted OK, so now I'm confused is his SC different to my 1995 and is his screen held in with a rubber strip??
Any advice appreciated.
Thanks Dave | |

| ko ok...I just had a windshield (glass thing in front of your nose when you drive) replaced. It was bonded with some kind of black puddy/ glue on the inside and also has a liner on the outside. If it has a tint I can hardly notice it and I wish it was more tinted. the liner and windscreen are separate item numbers. The cost including install was about 800 Canadian dollars. (£ 500). | |
