Insurance choice (camper insurance) £257 fully comp

i'm under the £200 with adrianflux fully comp...

Just about to renew but will shop around again...as one has to! My latest renewal is with Staveley Head at £222.00, doesn't sound too bad compared with what some of you guys are paying!

190 with Just Campers

Went with Stavely Head but oh my god since when did it so difficult get insurance....last year they had mileage declaration and copies of license of me any the missus, this year they want same but photo copy of both sides of license and again mileage declaration and they now want you to put copies of licenses on a goverment website for any hackers to get!
What happened to the days when you could stay with one company without all of the pxxxxxxg about every year so you don't get ripped off.
Now here's an Industry that needs serious looking into!

NFU did well for me local office 6 miles away no problem with grey import breakdown cover included named drivers only can tow trailer or caravan 7 seats £ 260 fully comp.

If yours is a camper van you can get insured through one of the camping clubs. I'm insured through The Camping and Caravanning club for just over £200 fully comp. Membership to The Camping and Caravanning Club costs around £38 a year though.

Just got a quote for mine £251, Caravan and Camping Club, no hassle, including breakdown, already a member :-)

Same old storey first year low insurance on renewal it shoots up £100 forcing one to shop around again, did and it for £225. When will they ever learn and save me some time.

mine is up for renewal, just tried NFU MUTUAL as a few have good quotes above, so I called my local NFU MUTUAL in Coventry CV3 postcode, went through all the guff and he then says o' I just realised your postcode [CV2] we don't cover it, sorry say that again, we don't cover it, we don't cover city centre or near to centre post code, but I said my post code is further from the cv1 centre than you are!, I can check but I think you may get a higher quote!? so your telling me because of my postcode you will load my quote, errr no, sorry we don't cover your postcode we can't help you .............

Is your a van or a camper? If it's a camper you'll get cheaper insurance going through one of the camping clubs insurance providers.

Is a standard SC not camper based but I have thought of fitting a fixed table as wirh the seats that drop to what could be a bed is that enough to be classed as a camper

I forget what the rules are for the vehicle to be re-classed as a camper, but a quick google search pulled up the below link. Basically it needs a bed, water, a cupboard, a hob, and a side window.

Well I'm all insured for another year, stuck with HIC but after ringing around I got it down from £579 to £414, fully comp all same details as last year etc etc

Moral of the story, never accept your renewal quote

Sounds a bit heavy I paid nearly half that.
