We have been avid caravanners for over 30 years but things needed to change. One, because we are not as young anymore, having retired in May. Two, because we have to move on and our circumstances have changed. Three, our sibling has gone to residential college and it is just the two of us. Four, we have a house in Turkey we use a few times a year, hence we sold the caravan over a year ago.

We miss it so much we decided to look for a plain and simple campervan We saw this and thought, To heck with it, let's buy it. So we have. We are really looking forward to sorting all the bits on it, as it was imported direct from Japan only 2 weeks ago.

That's awesome, gives me food for thought on retro fitting the wet room at the rear.

Who did you import it through, and how did you find out about it?

I bought it off Jap-Link (leasham Trading Ltd), near Folkestone. Gary is a super guy and will get anything you want. He has access to thousands in Japan. I saw this one before he bought it and just knew when it arrived here I had to have it. Just go to Jap-link.co.uk and his site will come up. I can certainly recommend him.

The Warrior is safely in Aylesbury from Folkestone. I have started to try and unravel the mysteries of her - so many cables, switches (at least 14), gadgets. Some are obvious like the 3 Pioneer Units, automatic compressor for the suspension, 55w+55w power amp, 2xwater pumps, etc.

First big expence today - 2 x 740 amp batteries saw almost £200 disappear. Wheel locks were a must with those HS-385's costing a fortune no doubt. Wednesday will see a new timing belt, aircon regas, full checkover, gearbox oil change and service. Clean start allays any fears, especially as the 19,000 miles seems dubious.

Next month sees the Alarm System and central locking modules for the doors fitted. Don't want to lose it do we? Having said that where would you hide something like this? Also reversing sensors will be an asset with all that overhang.
I will post more photos of the interior and add as we change/improve anything.
Update Thursday 30th Oct.
Timing belt, gearbox oil changed and given a complete clean bill of health. I seem to have a descent motor. Air Con not done due to R12 conversion required. Another time perhaps.
Update Sunday 2nd Nov.
Time to get down to the nitty gritty now we have done a runs around town in our pose-mobile, lol.
Tackled the horendous wiring loom under the dash wheer loads of excess wire removed and wiring stripped out from Sat/nav, TV, Video and Microwave. All of these were stolen enroute from Japan. As the photo shows the wiring was fitted very amatuerish. Getting the Pioneer separates out from the overhead bulkhead was challenge but the Frequency Expander is now fitted and Radio 2 is loud and clear. Made a note of all wiring colours to the overhead fuse box.

The japs never seem big on tidy installs lol. Good work so far, make sure you get her undersealed and wax oiled before the salt takes hold. Worth it when they come over so rust free.

Thanks for that drive-by. I had it sprayed with Stonegaurd while it was still in Folkestone. I will look at some wax oil as well.
I had central locking and a Maxx1 Category 1 alarm put on today. They removed a bagful of old wires from accessories they found under the dash. At least no-one is going to steal the Gray Warrior.
I have also changed the rear bulbs for LED, fitted daytime running lights and reverse sensors to backup camera. Inside will be sorted throughout the winter.

November 15th Update
Personal number plates added - the nearest I could get to G Voss. I did want VO55 GRA but at £2000 and needing a campervan with a 55 plate or never it will be forever a dream. I am more than happy with what I have. Also Daytime driving lights fitted on fender and above windscreen.

As the campervan was a 'Day' van it did not meet our needs. So we stripped it out and delivered it yesterday to Wellhouse Leisure, Huddersfield for a complete refurbishment. When it returns on 5th June it will have bed, cooker, fridge, running water and diesel heater. Europe will no longer be a dream away, after we have exhausted the UK of course.
My goodness, it does look in a sorry state!!

Yes, it can be a problem sometimes. The way I have to come out sometimes is drive up the ramp at a 45 degree angle. Unfortunately there is not a lot I can do about it on the way in, it just bottoms out. When the tyres wear I shall replace them with 265x15x70 instead of the current 265x15x50.

The bright light is reflection from the flash on the Japanese Quotation badge. It is the same as a St Christopher in the UK. Sort of Good Luck thing.

Well, here it is, in all it's glory - it is finished and on the road. We think it looks stunning and Wellhouse Leisure of Shepley, Yorkshire have done a fantastic conversion job on it.You may pay a little more but you are guaranteed a top class conversion done to perfection.

Thanks for the nice comments. Yes, the window night covers are suckers, though they are quality ons and I think they should last OK. They all fit like a glove, even the curved roof ones, which tuck into the edges nicely. Later I may try to design some that slide and are fixed up permanently. The front windows have the thermal made to measure ones. They are sucker also.
