Hi everyone. I'm a newbie. Just got a supercustom G 4WD 2000 model turbo diesel auto. Does anyone know why toyota switched from selectable 4WD to dedicated 4WD (was it 1998?) Pros n cons?
Thanks
Mel

I think the pros for selectable 4wd is that it can go on rougher roads and get you through bigger bogs and snow etc. because the wheels lock but that makes the cons too as it's no good for normal roads unlike dedicated which is better when it's just wet and slippery etc.

It all depends what you want it for, mine's selectable but I'm planning to take it to some rough places and don't want to get stuck.

Whatever one you have they're awesome vans !
