96 Granvia Gauges

Not sure if this is appropriate to this specific forum but I have a jdm 1996 Toyota Granvia and the gauge cluster has started going completely dark after it flickers for a few minutes. Wouldn't be a problem if I didn't need the trip odometer for my job. Any idea what causes this? I've tried just jiggling wires and replacing the fuse that's connected but it still happens.
