Interested to learn how you fixed up the awning. I was chatting to a neighbour who has a 'drive away' one on a VW. Am comtemplating a simple and lightweight rollout one from Drifta Stockton, but it's not a top priority right now.

Hiya, it took a while to work out how to do the awning because there was previously a awning cassette on the side. I had the fabric made in the new van colours with the plan to simply replace in the cassette but then found the fabric would not fit in the cassette due to the panels being sewn together.
My solution has been to get ‘o’ ring camper van awning fixings (if you search eBay there are a few options) screw these to the side and slide the awning in. I can send pics at the weekend but similar to this…

Yes, that O-ring setup is what my neighbour has. His awning / tent arrangement comes right up to the side of his van so there’s no ‘covered walkway’. His joining piece has a double O-ring arrangement so there’s a narrow but long joiner between the van and the tent.
