PostSubject: Electric Curtains   Fri Jun 13, 2008 11:39 am

Was wondering if any one else has had any success fixing their electric curtains ? Some will work all the time, others will close but not open or vice versa, or just struggle and take a few hits on the switch to close/open fully. Seems like it's probably just dust in the tracks (i hope). Just after some tips before i start pulling things apart.

btw, it's a 95 3.0 SCL 4WD

cheers sunny

I just gave the tracks a good wipe over with GT85, it is a ptfe spray and does not stay oily like some other sprays, which then attracts unwanted dust and grime, thus putting you right back where you started...... Smile

Never got around to cleaning those things. However they seem to have come good by themselves, due to just opening and shutting the curtains manually. I don't think the previous owners used them very often which gave the dust a chance to settle in there. We use them all the time though, so handy with a toddler in the back.

If it's anything like ours, the interesting bit was getting them on and off to give them a tub. The black water in the machine was nearly toxic as well Smile

How are the electric curtains operated, i.e. where is the switch/button to operate them? I haven't seen anything that would appear to be for the curtains.
