Hello folks.
Bit of a niche issue here.
On some vans with rear A/C there’s a small storage box between the two vent outputs and control units. You can see the box on this link:
https://toyota.epc-data.com/regius_ace/lh119v/114894/electric/8715/
Scroll down to Scheme 10 and 11 and the box has PNC 88892N and is discontinued.
The little box has a spring loaded lid and is opened by pushing the lid in and closed by pushing it closed until it clicks. On my van the little ‘prong’ that engages in a small black latch has broken off and it’s been kept closed with a wodge of paper. I’d like to sort this.
The open box looks like this (orientated as in situ):
The latch looks like this:
And what's left of the prong looks like this:
From examining the receiver it seems the end of the prong might be a little one-sided (J-type) hook but I’d be grateful if anyone with a working latch can please reply with a picture or two or some dimensions?
I think the 3 simple dimensions should be enough and an understanding of the tip shape. My plan is to then make it in CAD and 3d print it, possibly cutting the hook afterwards rather than trying to include it in the print, then glue it on.
How hard could it be?
Cheers!
