| Hi! I just bought a 1995 Hiace and the automatic lock won’t stop locking when I drive. Any ideas on what’s wrong and how to fix? Thanks! | |

| Don't complain about that, I wish every vehicle did it. As soon as I start driving my car I hit the lock button so anyone that comes to the car when stopped at lights can't rip the door open and pull me out. Carjackings are rare here but why tempt fate? | |

| I feel feel you on the safety side, but the locks won’t stop locking. Like every 2 seconds they lock again. It gets a little annoying. | |

| Sounds like a loose connection, the locking relay is behind the dash, mounted to the back of the dashboard bar: remove the glove compartment and you should be able to find it.
I think the green wires into the connector are the 'lock' and 'unlock' signals.

| If the vehicle is not actually supposed to have that facility then look for a pinched wire shorting somewhere, perhaps in the loom to the driver's door? | |

As I remember, the green and green stripe wires to the central locking relay need to be grounded to activate. So you should test by grounding (safest via a test lamp, just in case!), so as AA above suggests, look for a short - also check the switches themselves.

| BTW the grounding is momentary - probably best not to ground for too long!
The clever bit is done by the central locking 'relay', which sorts it all out and drives the locking solenoid/motors.
