Hi guys!

I have a few queryies.......

I'm pretty shure my leafs springs are knakerd, on the back of my 1994 toyota hiace crusing cabin. Does any one no of anyone who can refurbish / sell new leafs? I'm based near Newcastle upon Tyne. North east.

I'm also in need of some new injectors?

I also have a knocking from the engine...... I have been informed that it could the tappets slightly out? I have also been informed that in these engines ( the 3l ) they are not that accessible?

Lost of things to ask and i could go on!

Thanks in advance
Rowan

Hi Rowan,
Are you sure it's the leaf springs and not the shock absorbers? The leafs can start to sage over time, but if your shocks are gone you'll start to lose the bounce when going over bumps so you'll end up with a really harsh ride. Just had to change mine out as after 24 years on my beast they had well and truly given up the ghost.
Get yourself onto http://www.toyodiy.com and put in your wagons details and you will be able to locate part numbers for all the parts you need.
Hope that helps,
Rich

Not sure about the engine.

But why do you think the leaf suspension needs to be replaced?

Hi!

Thanks for the reply's!, the part number locator is mint. where have you been buying your parts from?

In terms of why i think they are shot, it's because the back end of my van sits realy low, and the sping's them selves don't curve much anymore, they are almost sitting flat.... I'm pretty sure they are gone, and if not i want more height any way, so i can put more load in it. Very Happy

Im deffo gonna check the shocks aswell and probabley replace first. Have you a standard method to check broken shocks?

Thanks

Shocks on rear can easily be removed and then pushed in and released by hand. Without dead parts in there.

I had the leaf springs taken to a specialized company who banged them into shape again and also added a leaf. This was done to achieve almost 5cm lift and more loading capacity
Company is Eeltink Veertechniek in Netherlands but you should find something like this in UK
