Feeling really bloody stupid right now. I was just drilling out some rivets which were barely holding a wonky bracket for an awning onto my left hand front door pillar, and managed to follow through. There was a sudden escape of gas and I'm assuming I've gone through a hose or worse in the rear air con unit. There is now a small amount of fluid leaking onto the road under the point where I was drilling. Before I strip the whole thing out to investigate, can anyone offer any advice. Hints on getting the casing off, what I'm likely to find in there and whether the front air con might continue to work would be appreciated. Comments about what a prat I am you can keep to yourself - I already know! Thanks in advance. Dave

Not sure if the rear is a valve shut off, or just circulates with the rear fan off when the front is on.
Easy test see if the front still works.
Best of luck!

So, in answer to my own question, in case anyone else finds themselves in a similar position:

The rear air-con is connected to the front. One doesn't work without the other.

The casing is reasonably simple to remove - pop out the plastic vents and switches to expose some fairly obvious screws behind which free the casing. There are two rubber hoses running inside the passenger (left) side door pillar and I had managed to clip one of these. Fortunately the unions at either end of these hoses are quite accessible. Air con specialist ACRE in Carterton managed to drag the hose out enough to let in a new section in and fix the leak. All re-charged and working nicely.
